Final Fantasy IX

Final Fantasy IX, the latest, and what SquareSoft says will be the last, PlayStation sequel in SquareSoft's hit Final Fantasy RPG series of games, is gearing up for release on July 19 in Japan. For this installment, the adventure goes back in time to the era of Final Fantasy IV and V. SquareSoft promises that some familiar characters will make their appearance, and the plot, which revolves around restoring the Crystal will tie up some loose ends in the complete Final Fantasy story. The story follows the adventures of three main characters: Zidane Tribal, a rebellious teen, Vivi Ornitier, the child of a Black Mage, and Adelbert Steiner, a knight of the royal family of the kingdom of Alexandria. No release date has been set for a U.S. debut, but gamers will most likely see the final Final Fantasy in the fall.
